Winston Darrell Drury

Hortense – Winston Darrell Drury, 84, of Hortense passed away Wednesday evening (January 11, 2023) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA his parents were Lona Drury and Daisy Lanier Drury. He is also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Eva Marie Drury and Edna Christine Drury Shepard; 3 brothers, Dwight Drury, Mack Drury and Ellis Drury; and 3 sisters, Ada Nelson, Ida Davis and Sally Howze.

Winston was a Forrester for Rayonier and served in the United States Air Force. He attended the Philadelphia Wesleyan Church and loved spending time with his family. Winston was a simple easy-going man who loved gardening, fishing, hunting and being outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Inge Drury of Hortense; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Winston C. Drury of Hortense and Richard D. Drury (Frances) of Devils Lake, ND; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Drury, Rick Drury, Ryan Drury, Kaitlyn Drury, Nikki Drury, Chelsea Drury and Dustin Shepard; 7 great grandchildren; 2 nephews, Jimmy Drury and Morris Willett; and several other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to his service Monday afternoon (January 16, 2023) starting at 1:30pm at Drury Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held Monday afternoon (January 16, 2023) at 2pm at Drury Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating.
