William Matthew Strickland

Nahunta – William Matthew Strickland, 51, of Nahunta passed away Thursday morning (November 2, 2023) at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents were William Edward Strickland and Ruth Douberly Strickland.

William was a logger who loved spending time with his dog and fishing.

Survivors include his life partner, Marie Gaskins of Nahunta; son and daughter-in-law, Justin Strickland (Liz) of Hortense; daughter, CeeGee Strickland of Nahunta; 4 grandchildren, Oakleigh Stickland and Kylie Roney of Hortense, Hayden Strickland and Ayden Strickland of Nahunta; God son, Jackson Harmon of Nahunta; sister and brother-in-law, Susan Wainright (Gary) of Nahunta; mother-in-law, Thurza Smith of Nahunta; stepdaughter, Emmie Lee (Jason) of Hortense; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
