Waycross – William “Tyler” Griffis, 43, of Waycross passed away Wednesday night (May 21, 2025) at Memorial Satilla Hospital.
Born in Brunswick, GA his parents are William Brad Griffis of Brunswick and Gloria Jean Gordon Griffis of Waycross. He is preceded in death by a nephew, Eli Mancil; and an uncle, Ronnie Gordon.
Tyler was a welder iron worker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a priest in priesthood. He loved spending time with his family, working out, running and welding.
Survivors include a daughter, Kylie Kathleen Griffis of Panama City Beach, FL; his father and stepmother, William “Brad” Griffis (Shelley Lee Griffis) of Brunswick; his mother, Gloria Jean Gordon Griffis of Waycross; a brother and sister-in-law, David Brian Miller (Lyndsey) of Augusta; a sister and brother-in-law, Cydney Griffis Mancil (Bobby) of Brunswick; a niece, Isabella Griffis Mancil; 2 cousins, Travis Griffis and Harrison Griffis; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday (May 27, 2025) starting at 10am at Frye Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (May 27, 2025) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bishop Charlie Moore officiating. Burial will follow in High Bluff Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Travis Griffis, Harrison Griffis, Brian Miller, Logan Miller, Chet Floyd, Lowell Floyd and Mike Peffer.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
