Wayne Fontaine McLeod

Wayne Fontaine McLeod, 69, of Brunswick passed away early Saturday morning, June 24, 2023, at his residence after a short illness. He was born in Bainbridge, GA to the late David Lawrence McLeod and Geneva Ard McLeod. Mr. McLeod lived in Brunswick most of his life and retired from McInnis Electric after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Local Union 508 IBEW and always enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. McLeod was an avid Nascar, Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, and especially the Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth McLeod; son-in-law, Lamar Drury.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Ruth Wilson McLeod of Brunswick; four children and spouses, Joshua Fontaine McLeod of Hortense, Billy Joe Carter (Amy) of Brunswick, April Regina Hollifield (Darren) of Leesburg, FL, and Elizabeth Jane Drury of Hoboken; nine grandchildren, Chelsea Carter, Carrie Rhoden, Michelle Lee, Katie Spikes, Joshua McLeod, Mary Beth Drury, Justin Carter, Ansley Carter, and Kolby McLeod; seven great-grandchildren, Briar, Levi, Zoe Jane, Marah Lou, Ember Grace, Lillie Michelle, Logan Lamar and several others that called him Papa; one brother and sister-in-law, Neal McLeod (Hollie) of Cullman, AL; one sister, Carol McLeod of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ruby Cribbs (Bruce) of Hilliard, FL, and Vila VanDeraa of Hoboken, Willie Wilson of Nahunta, George Wilson (Linda) of South Newport, GA, Glynn Wilson (Debra) of Brunswick; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at Frye Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, June 28, 2023, at 11 am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
