Hoboken – Vannie Iris Griffin Carter, 80, of Hoboken passed away Wednesday morning (April 10, 2024) at Satilla Hospice House in Waycross.
Born in Waycross, GA. her parents were Eust Griffin and Viola Griffin. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Olen Shurman Carter; a grandchild, Brandon Lewis Lott.
Vannie was a member of the Philippian Church in Hoboken. She was a secretary for over 15 years. She loved watching Dr. Pimple Popper, soap operas, and pioneer shows. She loved cooking, working in her flowers and spending time with her family.
Survivors include 3 sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith Carter, Brian Carter, and Glynn Carter (Kimberly) all of Hoboken; 4 grandchildren, Devon Carter (Sandy), Blake Carter, Kaylyn Knox (Kaleb), and Ashley Turner (Tony); 6 great grandchildren, Ashton Carter, James Cox, Kamden Knox, Auriegh Turner, Aspen Turner and Easton Knox; 1 brother, Wayne Griffin of Hoboken; also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday (April 20, 2024) at The Philippian church in Hoboken at 5PM.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
