Vance Mitchell

Waynesville- Vance Mitchell, 58 of Waynesville, passed away suddenly on Wednesday (April 5, 2023) in Chatanooga, TN.

Born in Brunswick, GA., his parents were the late Gordon Albert Mitchell, Sr. and Sandra Wiggins Mitchell, of Waynesville.

He retired after many years of working in Operations for Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Smith Mitchell, of Waynesville; 3 sons, Tristian Mitchell, William McNeely, Trinity Lee, all of Waynesville; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Rachel Nixon (Cody), of Waynesville, Amanda Lewis (Tim), of Longwood, and Carrie McNeely, of Waynesville; 8 grandchildren, Allyson, Makensey, Hudson, Laurean, Logan, Caylon, William, and Chloe; his mother, Sandra Wiggins, of Waynesville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Gordon Mitchell, Jr. (Lisa), of Waynesville, and Dennis Mitchell, of Nahunta.  Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
