Tracy Lee Harris, 50 of Hoboken, passed away Monday (October 9, 2023) at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Waycross, GA., his parents are Thomas Barney and Sandra Griffin Harris. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Barney Harris and Travis Harris; maternal grandparents, R.L. and Myrtice Griffin; paternal grandparents, Barney and Mildred Harris; aunts, Grace Griffin and Shirley Groover; and an uncle, J.C. Harris.
Tracy worked many years for CSX Transportation as a boilermaker and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed sports, loved the Georgia Bulldogs, sunsets, fishing and listening to music. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and missed his brothers dearly. He thought the world of his friends and classmates from the Brantley County High School Class of 1992.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Olivia Caroline Moody (Tyler), of Hortense and Diana Lee Harris, of Savannah; son, Elijah Cole Harris, of Raybon; three grandchildren, Emersyn Moody, Harlan Moody and Huxton Moody; his parents, Thomas and Sandra Harris, of Hoboken; the mother of his children, Lisa Harris; aunts and uncles, Tony Griffin (Phyllis), of Hoboken, Helen Ledford (Harvey), of Murfreesboro, TN. and Bimbo Harris (Tamara), of Nahunta; nieces and nephews, Rhett Harris (Tara), Emilee Harris, Aaron Harris (Kennedy), Kelsey Ruesga (John), Noah Harris and Alyssa Harris. Also several cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (October 11, 2023) from 6PM-8PM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday (October 12, 2023) at 11AM at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randall Gunter, Diana Harris and Rev. Mike Yawn officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Rhett Harris, Aaron Harris, Noah Harris, Caleb Kerman, Bailey Knight, Mitchell Lee, Tracy Leroy Harris and Wesley Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Brantley County High School Class of 1992.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
