Susan Phyllis Sloan Youmans

Susan Phyllis Sloan Youmans, 67, of Brunswick passed away Wednesday evening (January 9, 2019) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an brief illness.

Born in Hortense, GA her parents were Raleigh Sloan and Juanita Craig Sloan. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashleigh Sloan Griffis; and 2 brothers, Ronald Sloan and Chuck Sloan.

Susan was a retired clerk and a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed doing cross word puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Ted Youmans of Brunswick; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Bobbie Jo & George Griffis of K-Ville, Betty Jo Crews and Wendy Susan Albritton both of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren, Wesley Griffis, Trenton Crews, Matthew Crews, Allan Hower, Kasie Cabrera, and R.J. Johnson; 10 Great Grandchildren; a brother, Stanley Sloan of Waycross; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail Griffin of Hoboken, Dale & Den Weniger of Broxton, Amber Young of Callahan, and Sabrina & Tom Loeb of Connecticut; a sister-in-law, Frances Sloan of Raybon; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday morning (January 12, 2019) starting at 10am at Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (January 12, 2019) at 11am with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Rivers Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be R. J. Johnson, Trenton Crews, Roger Sloan, Kelly Rowell, Milton Rowell, and Jeffrey Sloan.

Arrangement are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
