Steven Joe Smith

Steven Joe Smith, 59 of Brunswick, passed away Monday (January 1, 2018) at Southeast Georgia Health System following a brief illness.

Born in New Castle, IN, his parents were Kenneth Lee Smith and Betty Louise Derrickson Smith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Duane Smith.

Steven worked many years in Maintenance for FLETC. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandbabies, and was always building something.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Skipper Smith, of Brunswick; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Christopher Smith (Brandi), of Waynesville, Eric Smith, of Nahunta, and Kenneth Smith, of Brunswick; 5 grandchildren, Mallory Smith, Landon Smith, Emma Grace Smith, Dalilah Smith, and Tsagaris Thrift; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Randy Smith (Sonnie), of Indiana, Tony Smith (Tanya), of Ohio; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Deb Sumner (Bill), of Waynesville, Mandy Mason (Bob), also of Waynesville, Lori Bell (Brian), of St. Simons, and Sue Smith, of Waynesville. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening (January 4, 2018) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Funeral Services will be held Friday (January 5, 2018) at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Madison Herrin officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
