Sharon Rene Grimes

Hortense – Sharon Rene Gwin Grimes, 65, of Hortense passed away early Thursday morning (June 30, 2022) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Elmer, NJ her parents are Ruth Pie Gwin of Jekyll Island and the late Steven Gwin. She is also preceded in death by a son, Christopher Grimes.
Sharon was a retired teacher and served in the United States Army. She loved spending time with her family and grandkids, hosting family events, cooking and reading.
Survivors include her son, Jonathan Grimes (fiancé Dessie Landon) of Hortense ; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Grimes of Kingsland and Wendi Zongker (Jarrett) of Clemmons, NC; 9 grandchildren, Alex, Kyle, Sarah, Willow, Killian, Henry, Genevieve, Kaylee, & Natalee; her mother, Ruth Gwin of Jekyll Island; 2 brothers, John Gwin and Steven Gwin; a sister, Pat Kennedy; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
There will be no services at this time.
