Nahunta – Shane Fortier Whitford, Sr., 50, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday morning (September 1, 2020) at Orange Park Medical Center in FL after a brief illness.
Born in Houston, TX his parents were Robert Fortier Whitford and Laura Jean Brinson Robertson.
Shane was a concrete finisher for Shenefield Concrete and loved playing in a local band, The Mindgrind.
Survivors include his son, Shane Whitford, Jr. (fiancé Jessica O’Neal) of Brunswick; 2 grandchildren, Tyler Whitford and Kaleigh Whitford of Brunswick; his companion, Tammy Pearce of Nahunta and her children, Dalton, Jamie, Eileen, Reuben, Joe and Brook; his brother and sister-in-law, Brent Whitford (Laura) of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Tammy Groover (Tee) and Robyn Robertson all of Waynesville; 3 nieces, Courtney Brown and Kayla Robertson both of Waynesville and Adriane Phelps of Chickamauga, GA; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
