Sara Marie Hickox

Nahunta-Sara Marie Hickox, 46, of Nahunta passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, Ga to Eddie Lewis and Diane Lee Lewis. She is preceded in death by her father and a brother Jesse Lewis, Aunt Anna Lee, and her mother-in-law Trish Hickox.

Marie was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sister. She loved singing gospel songs with her Dad, making chicken & dumplings, doing diamond art beading, eating her favorite mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, pudding cups and drinking ice-cold Coca-Cola. Marie loved children and served as a Paraprofessional with Brantley County Board of Education for almost 4 years. Marie is deeply loved and will be missed by all those fortunate enough to know her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 25 years, Troy Hickox; her son Dalton Hickox; her daughter Deziree Hickox and daughter-in-law Haileigh Leinaar; her mother Diane Lewis; a brother Wayne Lewis; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Frye Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home officiated by Bro. Bruce Dean.

Burial will be at Rob Lewis Cemetery immediately following the service. Family and friends will gather on Monday after the burial at 97 Loblolly Lane, Nahunta.

Pallbearers include Dalton Hickox, Braydon Hickox, Branson Hickox, Barry Lee, D.J. Lee and Blake Lewis.
