Waynesville – Roy Lee Edgy, 62, of Waynesville passed away Thursday evening (August 17, 2023) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a sudden illness.
Born in Spokane, WA his parents were Elliott Calvin Edgy and Joan Shirley Patrick.
Roy was a master carpenter and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Brunswick. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and working.
Survivors include his wife, Mishelle Edgy of Waynesville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, James Edgy (Amber) of Waynesville and Daniel Edgy (Melissa) of Trenton, GA; 6 grandchildren, Savannah Edgy, James Lee Edgy, Moriah Edgy, Reagan Edgy, Katie Edgy and Audrey Edgy; a brother and sister-in-law, Joey Edgy (Sherri) of Waynesville; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Strickland (David) of Waynesville and Kristina Popwell (Chris) of St. Mary’s; 2 half-sisters, Pearl Haines and Shirley Blanchard both of Spokane, WA; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the church service Sunday evening (August 20, 2023) starting at 5pm at Bible Baptist Church in Brunswick.
A church service will be held Sunday evening (August 20, 2023) at 6pm at Bible Baptist Church during normal worship with Rev. Mike Landrum officiating.
A graveside service will Monday morning (August 21, 2023) at 10:30am at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Rev. Mike Landrum officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
