Folkston – Robert “Pete” Leon O’Berry, 78, of Folkston passed away Saturday morning (October 3, 2026) at his residence.
Born in Hoboken, GA his parents were Roy O’Berry and Ola Flowers O’Berry.
Pete was a logger and a member of Winokur Baptist Church. He loved his family, going to social gatherings and hunting. Pete was a very social man who enjoyed talking and communicating with everyone.
Survivors include his wife Sue O’Berry of Folkston; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Matthew O’Berry (Kathy) of Nahunta and Adam O’Berry of Folkston; a daughter, Julie O’Berry of Folkston; 2 grandchildren, Kynlee Lee and Allie O’Berry; a brother, Leeroy O’Berry of Folkston; 2 special friends, Shirley Crews and Gary Crews; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Monday evening (October 5, 2026) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (October 6, 2026) at 10am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Foster and Chaplain (Col.) Bobby Whitlock officiating. Burial will follow in Allen-O’Berry Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Randall Howard, Ed Lowther, James Swain, Stephen Crews, Ryan Crews and Bart Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Crews, Gary Tippins, C.L. Lewis, Jimmy Woodard, Emory Crews and Frankie Wainright.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
