Richard Wayne Waters

Nahunta – Richard Wayne Waters, 58, of Nahunta passed away Wednesday evening (June 5, 2024) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA his parents were Eugene Waters and Helen Cravey Waters. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Mickey Waters.

Richard was a teacher at Atkinson Elementary School and a member of College Place United Methodist Church. He was an avid sports fan and loved collecting sports memorabilia.

Survivors include his wife, Terri Thrift Waters of Nahunta; 2 daughters, Kayce Ryann Waters and Laney Kyndall Waters both of Nahunta; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday (June 8, 2024) starting at 11am at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church.

A funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon (June 8, 2024) at 12pm at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Billy Hickox, Anthony Dent, Kevin Bass, Danny Waters, Dale Lee and Paul Able.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
