Richard "Ricky" James Boatwright, Jr.

Claxton – Mr. Richard “Ricky” James Boatwright, Jr., 64, of Claxton passed away Wednesday night (April 20, 2022) at East Ga. Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA. following a brief illness.
His parents were Richard James Boatwright and Verlie Mavis Allen Boatwright. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Boatwright.
Ricky retired from the state as a Correctional Officer. He was of the Church of God faith. Ricky loved doing yard work and singing gospel music.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Susan Brinson Boatwright of Claxton; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy Taft of Douglas, Evelyn Davis (Darrell) of Kingsland, and Janice Mercer (Victor) of Hortense; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday (April 23, 2022) at 11AM at Satilla Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Taft, Jim Brinson, Hunter Stevens, Seth Mercer, Darrell Davis and James Davis.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
