Richard Chesser

December 23, 1956 — September 1, 2021

Nahunta-Richard Lee Chesser, 64, of Nahunta, passed away Wednesday evening (September 1, 2021) at his daughters residence following a brief illness.
Born in Waycross, GA. his parents were John Sherrod Chesser and Lillie Mae Moore Chesser. He is also preceded by a son, Christopher Dewayne Chesser; 2 brothers, Harry Chesser and Charles Chesser.
Richard was a boilermaker Local 26 before retiring. He loved raising animals, gardening, visiting with people, and joking, spending time with family and helping others.
Survivors include 1 son, Harrison Levi Chesser ; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Erin Chesser Pittman (Luke) and Ana Chesser all of Nahunta. 1 grandson, Travis Pittman of Nahunta, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, John E. Chesser, Sr. (Wilma) of Hoboken, and David Chesser of Nahunta, 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Melissia Howe of Thalmann , Ruby Moody (Jerry) of Hortense, and Hazel Farrill of Nahunta; special friends, Bobby & Debra Crews; His ex-wife, Diann Chesser of Nahunta. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. And a host of friends.
Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service on Saturday morning (September 4, 2021) starting at 10:30AM at Oakgrove cemetery with Bro. Phillip Rowell officiating.
Graveside services will be held Saturday morning (September 4, 2021) at 11AM at Oakgrove cemetery.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home , Nahunta.
