Blackshear – Ralph Joseph Jacobs, 85, of Blackshear passed away Tuesday evening (October 27, 2020) at Haborview Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.
Born in Blackshear, GA his parents were Sam Jacobs and Ethel Sapp Jacobs. He is also preceded in death by a son; and several siblings.
Ralph was a retired Staff Sergeant for the United States Army and later became a millwright. He was a member of Ivory Palace Church and loved people, fishing and was one of the sweetest men God created.
Survivors include his wife, Diana Jacobs of Blackshear; 5 children; a stepdaughter, Crystal Smart of Blackshear; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, Nathan Lordeo and Jonathan Lampp both of Blackshear; brother-in-law, Bill Smith of Jacksonville; sister-in-law, Darleen Peacock of AL; cousin, Dennis Courson of Waycross; his best friend, Creighton Harrell; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family highly recommends wearing a mask and that you follow the rules for social distancing. Also, if anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family understands and ask you to be in prayer for our loved ones.
A funeral service will be held Saturday (October 31, 2020) at 2pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday (October 31, 2020) starting at 1pm at Frye Funeral Home.
