Priscilla 'Ruth' Reddish

Hortense – Priscilla “Ruth” Jacobs Reddish of Hortense passed away Thursday (October 1, 2020) at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Waynesville, GA her parents were William Henderson Jacobs, Sr. and Marguerite Elizabeth Mattox Jacobs. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Denise Smith; a brother, Southwell Jacobs; and 5 sisters, Shelba Jean Jacobs, Emily McMurphy, Agnes Johns, Theresa Strickland, and Mercedes “Mert” Dowling.

Ruth was a homemaker and a member of Lulaton Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her 6 children and their spouses, Donna Harper of Hortense, Tony Smith (Cindy) of Hortense, Sheila Walsh (Jeff) of Brunswick, John Smith (Darla) of Waynesville, Joe Smith (Theresa) of Waynesville and Beth Rawlins (Jamie) of Middleburg, FL; 16 grandchildren, Stephanie Couch, Scott Smith, Tommy Smith, Toni Michelle Paradise, Courtney Parsons, Erin Bereheiko, Matthew Walsh, Jackie Sawey, Erica Dixon, Michelle Clark, Victoria Aragon, Ramon Aragon, Tara Rawlins, Tripp Rawlins, Tina Newman and David Harper, III; 29 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, William “Will” Jacobs (Joy) of Monticello, FL; a sister, Shirleen Thornton of Waynesville; and also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family asked that you follow the rules for social distancing. Also, if anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family understands and ask you to be in prayer for our loved ones.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening (October 3, 2020) from 6pm-8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (October 4, 2020) at 2pm at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Beal officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Walsh, Jason Smith, Tripp Rawlins, Clint Paradise, Tommy Smith, and Aron Dixon.

Arrangement are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
