Waycross – Paul Dean Wampler, 56, of Waycross passed away Wednesday (September 24, 2025) at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Portage, WI his parents were Edwin Wampler and Anna Bonnett Wampler. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Smith Wampler; a brother, Preston Wampler; and 2 nephews, Walter Goodyear, Jr. and James Wampler.

Paul was a truckdriver who loved his family dearly. He loved riding is side by side, fishing, playing darts and cards and watching the Greenbay Packers.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Owen Wampler (Jessica) of Waycross; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Lynn Minnick (Mykle) and Erin Wampler of Waycross; 5 grandchildren, Brantlee Minnick, Braxton Minnick, Hailey Minnick, Cayden Wampler and Carson Wampler; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Phillip Wampler of WI, Perry Wampler (Debra) on MN, Pete Wampler (Linda) and Penn Wampler all of WI; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Pat Thorne (Jon) of Oxford, WI and Pam Cook of Baraboo, WI; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held Thursday morning (October 2, 2025) at Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St. Beaufort, SC 29902.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
