Patricia 'Pat' Rooks

Hortense – Patricia “Pat” Cribs Rooks, 64, of Hortense passed away Thursday evening (January 21, 2021) at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Fernandina Beach, FL her parents were Elmer, Cribs, Jr. and Minnie Bell Taylor Cribs. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Allen Rooks; a sister, Gail Cribs; and 2 brothers, George Cribs and Mike Cribs.

Pat was a homemaker and loved playing cards.

Survivors include her 4 sons, Allen “PeeWee” Rooks, Jr., Eugene Rooks, Rodney Rooks (Jessica O’Berry), and Ted Rooks all of Waynesville; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Warren Cribs (Ellen Anderson) of Hortense; 4 Sisters and brothers-in-law; Louise Brandenburg (Pat), Kay Thomas (Tommy), Shirley Morris (Phillip), and Deborah Latham (Randy), also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday afternoon (January 26, 2021) at 2pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Rev. Larry Altman officiating. Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service on Tuesday afternoon (January 26, 2021) starting at 1:30pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Sweat, Allen Wayne Rooks, Frank Cribs, Shade Rooks, Zane Rooks, Ted Rooks, Ralph Rooks, “JR” Thomas Lee, and Carmon Rooks.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
