Nahunta – Patricia “Pat” Marie Ammons Hickox, 72, of Nahunta passed away Tuesday evening (January 9, 2024) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Tampa, FL her parents were R. L. Ammons and Golda Pearl “Nookie” Riggins Ammons. She is also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Rita Howard and Cheryl Wainright; and 2 nephews, Ray Ammons and Mac Wainright.
Pat was a school bus driver for Brantley County School systems and loved spending time with her family, taking care of her grandchildren, cooking and racing especially at the Golden Isles Speedway.
Survivors include her 2 daughters and a son-in-law, April Beckham (William) and Mandy Tillman all of Nahunta; a son and daughter-in-law, Adam Ammons (Candice) of Waynesville; 9 grandchildren, Trey Crews, Chelsea Crews, Devin Crosby, Dalton Ammons, Boss Ammons, Rachal Ammons, Grant Tillman, Shay Thomas and Remy Tillman; several great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ricky Ammons and Jamie Ammons both of Waynesville; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Peggy Gibson (John) of Waynesville, Carolyn Drawdy (Gene) of Waynesville, Robin Wheeler (Don) of Waynesville, Susie Wilson (Harley) of Folkston and Monica Allen (William) of Hilliard, FL; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday (January 12, 2024) starting at 3PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Friday afternoon (January 12, 2024) at 4PM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Trent Long officiating.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
