Norman Howard Hicks

Norman Howard "Howie" Hicks, 48 of Atkinson, GA died Wednesday night (Aug. 12, 2009) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia following a extended illness. Born in Joliet, IL, his parents were Lawrence Kendal and Martha Carol Griffith Hicks. He was a carpenter and worked for Johnson and Johnson in Illinois as a Heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a Mason and loved fishing and camping. He was of the Southern Baptist faith. He is survived by his Son, Jeremy Ryan Hicks, 2 Grandchildren, MaKayla and Danicka Hicks all of IL; a Sister and brother-in-law, Debra and Roger Vittoe of Bloomington, IL; a Brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Angela Hicks of Atkinson; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Sunday (Aug. 16, 2009) at 3:00 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Wainright and Rev. Wilbur Dean officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service starting at 2 p.m. at the Chapel. Memorialization will be by cremation. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
