Milton Homer Lane

June 10, 1921 — August 5, 2016

Brunswick – Milton Homer Lane, 95, of Brunswick passed away Friday afternoon (August 5, 2016) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Waynesville, GA his parents were Weldon C. and Sarah Elizabeth Richardson Lane. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Odessa Mae Jacobs Lane; a daughter, Doris Mae Lane; a son, Jerry Dean Lane; 7 brothers, Jesse Willard Lane, W.C. Lane, Weldon Vinson Lane, David Colquitt Richardson, Vernon Sinclair Lane, Ellison Elliot Lane, and Elbert Lane; and 3 sisters, Annie Lou Harris, Ruby Pierce, and Villion Lane Smith.

Milton retired from Babcock & Wilcox as a boilermaker and was of the Baptist faith. He also loved reading , working in his vegetable garden , and growing citrus trees.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Milton Lane (Eva)of Brunswick; a daughter and son-in-law, Windy Lane Sapp (Allen) of Brunswick; 6 grandchildren, Cali Mae Lane, Aaron Sapp, Lenny Foltzer, Angel Hiott, Sherry Lapierre(Bill), and Jerry D. Lane, Jr.; several great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening (August 6, 2016) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (August 7, 2016) at 3PM at Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. R.C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Lane Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Buck Davis, Dean Lane, Jimmy Lane, Hubert Lane, David Davis and Mark Jacobs.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
