Nahunta – Mildred Allean Lee Ingram, 88, of Nahunta was born May 1, 1930, died Sunday (December 16, 2018) at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. She was a native of Brantley County, GA and graduated May 26, 1947 from Nahunta High School.

Born in Hickox, GA her parents were Randle E. Lee and Nancy Lois Hale Lee. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles Robert Ingram; a sister, Evelyn Keen; a brother and his wife, George R. Lee and Gertrude Lee; and 3 nephews.

After high school she attended Southern Business University in Atlanta, GA 1947-1948 where she studied General Business and Accounting. She started her career in 1948 with L.B. Price Company, followed by Burroughs Adding Machine Company, Encyclopedia Britannica, Eastern Airlines, all in Atlanta and 8 years with H & R Block in Columbus, GA.

She moved back to Brantley Co in 1983 where she opened her own Tax Service Business and retired December 31, 2005 after 57 years of accounting and tax work for the general public.

She was an active member of Hickox Baptist Church and the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class and had served as church treasurer from 1985 – 1995 at Nahunta 1st Baptist Church. She had also served as Secretary-Treasurer for the Bethlehem Cemetery Corp. from 1992 when it was incorporated until Spring of 2018.

Mildred also loved her family and church, working with numbers, learning new things, genealogy, crocheting, knitting, sewing and teaching sewing at the GAP House.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Walter & Candy Ingram of Nahunta; a daughter and son-in-law, Marian & Richard Ice of Norman, OK; 3 grandchildren, Eric L. Ice of Norman, OK, Lauren I. Dill (Michael) of Edmond, OK and Michael R. Shadwick of Nahunta; 5 great grandchildren, Abigail Ice, Macie Ice, Makenna Dill, Conner Dill, and Finnley Dill; 5 step great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Aley & Myrle Lee of Nahunta; Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday evening (December 21, 2018) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (December 22, 2018) at 10am at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Giddens officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Cemetery in Waycross, GA.

Pallbearers will be the deacons of Hickox Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class.

Family and pallbearers are asked to be at Hickox Baptist Church Saturday by 9:30am.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
