Melissa Dawn Henderson

Waverly – Melissa Dawn Henderson, 54, of Waverly passed away Friday (August 23, 2024) in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Homerville, GA her parents were Paul T. Henderson and Marlene Whittington Henderson. She is also preceded in death by her son, James Vinson Lane.

Melissa was a homemaker and attended The Chapel in Brunswick. She loved spending time with her grandbabies, sewing, gardening, doing crafts and collecting coins.

Survivors include her daughter, Joni Thompson of Brunswick; 2 grandchildren, Amilea Dawn Dunaway and Addilyn Jean Crews both of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Diane Dean of Waverly and Tammy Stone (Randy) of Alapaha; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Paul Henderson of Waverly and Jeff Henderson (Lisa) of Waynesville; special friend of the family, Leon Wilson of Waverly; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A graveside will be held Thursday morning (August 29, 2024) at 10am at Taylor Methodist Church Cemetery in Brunswick with Mr. Billy Whittington officiating.
