Mary Ruth Chancey

Nahunta – Mary Ruth Jacobs Chancey, 82, of Nahunta passed away early Thursday morning (November 25, 2021) at Bayview Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Dan H. Jacobs and Bertha Stubbs Jacobs. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Chancey, Sr.; an infant brother; and a sister, Dana Jo Jacobs.
Mary was a retired teacher for Brantley County Board of Education and a charter member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved teaching, watching the Herons Basketball and reading.
Survivors include her 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Bobby Joe Chancey, Jr. of Brunswick and Marc D. Chancey (Tina) of Nahunta; 3 grandchildren, Kayla Chancey, Kassidy McCarty (Jordan) and Kyle Chancey; a great grandson, Ryder McCarty; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday evening (November 28, 2021) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Monday morning (November 29, 2021) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating.
Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Chancey, Jr, Marc Chancey, Kyle Chancey, Ricky Stewart, Jordan McCarty, and Phillip Chancey.
The family will be receiving friends at Marc & Tina’s residence at 2916 Baker Creek Rd Nahunta, GA 31553.
