Mary Rosella Lyons

Baxley- Mary Rosella Lyons, 79 of Baxley, passed away Monday morning (July 30, 2018) at Pavilion Nursing Home, in Baxley, following an extended illness.

Born in Waynesville, GA., her parents were Martin Lyons and Lillian Brockington Lyons. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Benny Lyons, Martin Lyons; and 4 sisters, Nora Wilson, Angeline Corbitt, Ruth Corbitt, and Joann Rollins.

Mrs. Lyons enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to Elvis, and loved to crochet, she often crocheted for the staff and residents at the Pavilion. She worked many years as a CNA for Pierce County Nursing Home and was a member of Midway Baptist Church, in Baxley.

Survivors include her two sons and daughter-in-law, William “Billy” Anderson III, of Alma; Marty and Sherri Anderson, of Alma; her daughter, Ciglenda Anderson, of Brunswick; her daughter-in-law, Calista Moore, of Kingsland; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 4 brothers and sister-in-law, Marvin and Jean Lyons, Elmer Davis, Cecil Davis, and Jasper Davis; and her sister, Macie Tennison. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (July 31, 2018) from 6PM-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (August 1, 2018) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Marty Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow in Lyons Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ryne Anderson, Ethan Anderson, Michael Anderson, Tom Anderson, Hayden Anderson, Lee Kersey, and Guage Kersey.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and all of her friends at the Pavilion Nursing Home.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral Wednesday by 10:30AM.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
