Hickox – Marion Lee Johns Strickland, 63, of Hickox passed away Monday night (March 2, 2026) at her residence after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were Harvey Elmer Johns and Annie Grace Williams May. She is also preceded in death by her stepfather, Donnie May; a sister, Denise Rowell; and a sister-in-law, Gwen Short.
Marion was well known for working the front desk at 82 Tire & Automotive Repair since it had opened and was a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She was a great mother to her boys and loved her grandsons dearly. Marion loved going to the beach with her sisters and will be greatly missed by her community.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Strickland of Hickox; 2 sons, Hunter Strickland (Erin Hartley) and Byron Strickland (Brooke Studstill) all of Hickox; 2 grandsons, River Strickland and Calan Strickland; a sister and brother-in-law, Missy Cleland (Robbie) of Raybon; a brother-in-law, Randy Rowell of Hickox; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday evening (March 4, 2026) from 6pm – 8pm at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon (March 5, 2026) at 2pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Marlan DePratter officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bryon Strickland, Hunter Strickland, Blake Cleland, Brandon Rowell, Joey Queen and Jordan Wilson.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
