Margaret Jeanette Manning

Hortense- Margaret Davison Manning, 89 of Hortense, passed away Sunday (February 12, 2023) at Bayview Nursing Home following an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA ; her parents were Joseph Joshua Davison and Ruby White Davison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Perry “J.P.” Manning; two sons, Stanley Manning and Dave Manning; three brothers, June Davison, Red Davison and Wayne Davison; one sister, Louise Hoy.

Mrs. Margaret was a homemaker and a member of Sawgrass Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed cooking, going to sings, going out to eat and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Joey Manning (Margie); two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruby Oliver (John) and Margaret Lewis (Joe), all of Hortense; 10 grandchildren, Aletra Holland (James), Stacey Rhoden (Amy), Stephanie Oliver (Missy), Samantha Popwell (Phillip), Selina Oliver (Josh), J.C. Oliver (Shayla), Justin Roberson (Rachel), Jessica Sapp (Logan), Josh Manning and J.P. Manning (Emily); 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Marlene Gibb, of Rock Hill, S.C., and Katie Jean Davison, of Pooler, GA. Also several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (February 14, 2023) from 6PM-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday (February 15, 2023) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Justin Roberson, J.C. Oliver, Josh Manning, J.P. Manning, Aiden Petersen, Hunter Dampier, Cain Roberson, and Gavin Popwell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Staff of Bayview Nursing Home.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
