Louise Johns Harris

Hoboken-Louise Johns Harris, 89, of Hoboken passed away Friday morning (July 10, 2020) at Memorial Satilla Health after a brief illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA. her parents were Perry and Mattie Moore Johns.

Mrs. Louise was a homemaker and a member of Hoboken Baptist Church. She loved cooking for friends and family, also enjoyed sewing, quilting and loved working in her garden. Another of her favorite hobbies was tending her chickens.

Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband, Richard “Bay” Harris, a son Danny Harris, her daughter, Marlene Crews. 4-brothers, Horace, Harvey, Jerry and Earl Johns. 1-sister, Remona “Mona Rose Warner.

Survivors are 4-sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Sabra Harris, David and Cindy Harris, Roger and Velvet Harris and Skipper and Rose Mary Harris, all of Hoboken, 2-Daughters and sons-in-law, Annette “Susie” and Daniel Westberry, of Hoboken and Judy and Marty Melton, of Blackshear, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Chesser (Barry), of Hoboken, Son-in-law, Alan Crews, of Hoboken, 2-brothers and sisters-in-law, Ivey Johns (Gail), of Hickox and Perry “Bolo” Johns, Jr., (Janet), of Florida, 17-Grandchildren, 33-Great Grandchildren and 2-Great Great Grandchildren, also several nieces, nephews and other relatives and a great host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

Funeral services will be held Sunday (July 12, 2020) at 2 P.M. from the Hoboken Baptist Church with Rev. Ben Glosson, Rev. Richard Harris officiating.

The family will receive friends 1-hour prior at the church.

Pallbearers will be Richard Westberry, Bruce Westberry, Silas Harris, Rodney Harris, Jody Harris, Tyler Melton, Darin Melton, Benji Harris, Austin Harris and Brandon Crews.

Burial will follow at The New Hope Cemetery in Hickox, GA.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
