Lola Mae Lyons

Lola Mae Lyons went home to be with her Lord Friday, June 1, 2018 after an extended illness.

She was a long-time member of the Church of God of Prophecy, attending both the Brunswick and Nahunta churches. She served in many roles including Sunday School teacher, VBS teacher, and missions booster.

As a talented seamstress, she enjoyed making clothing and toys for her children and grandchildren. She was the model of selflessness, sacrifice, and compassion. Her quick wit and infectious laughter made her a joy to be around. She loved her family and friends well and she was loved much in return.

She is survived by her husband, Calvin E. Lyons, daughters, Myra Lynn Chasteen (Lamar) of Brunswick, GA, Barbara Ann Holt (Paul) of Cleveland, TN, grandchildren Eric Chasteen (Jeanie), Mark Chasteen (Kalene), Brandon Holt (Katie), Jordan Holt (Sarah), great grandchildren Chloe, Emma, Remi, Caleb, Sam, Wyatt, and Elijah.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Frye Funeral Home, 136 Satilla Ave., Nahunta, GA with Reverends Paul Holt and Leon Wilson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rob Lewis Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service.
