Larry Franklin Cooner

Hortense – Larry Franklin Cooner, 64, of Hortense passed away Sunday (December 7, 2025) at his residence after a brief illness.

Born in Kingsland, GA his parents were Paul Cooner and Inez Rutledge Cooner. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Darlene Cooner.

Larry worked for Daniel’s Sawmill and loved spending time with his family. He was a jack of all trades and loved fishing, horses and training them to pull wagons.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Cooner of Hortense; a son, Paul Franklin Cooner Pearson of Anderson, SC; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda Marie Marr (Joseph) of Folkston; 2 grandchildren, Emily Marr and Ben Marr; 2 sisters, Hilda Copeland of Lyons and Patricia Crews of Kingsland; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
