Lannis Glendon Morgan

Hortense- Lannis Glendon Morgan, 85 of Hortense, passed away early Tuesday morning (June 11, 2024) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA., his parents were Isaac “Eugene” Morgan and Maude Lyons Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Mary White Morgan; 7 brothers, Donald, Jesse, Hugh, Eldon, Arnie, Kenny and Gerald Morgan; and a sister, Hester Mae Dowling.

Lannis was an electrician for many years and attended Little Memorial Baptist Church. He loved traveling, gardening, fishing, playing old country and bluegrass music on his guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking and loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Buttram Morgan, of Hortense; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff Morgan (Lorraine), of Nahunta, Jesse Morgan (Ponnie), of Hortense; two grandchildren, Jeffery Morgan, Chris Morgan; two great grandchildren; and a sister, Rita Lewis. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Friday (June 14, 2024) from 10AM-11AM at Frye Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Friday (June 14, 2024) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Hilton Morgan and Rev. Keith Brown officiating.

Burial will follow in Rob Lewis Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeffery Morgan, Chris Morgan, Ricky Harper, Derek Lewis, Cliff Morgan and Tyrone Morgan.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
