Kathy Diane Turner

Nahunta – Kathy Diane Minchew Turner, 71, of Nahunta passed away Wednesday morning (January 17, 2024) at Southeast Georgia Health System after an extended illness.

Born in Brunswick, GA her parents were Thomas Jackson Minchew and Kathleen Daniels Minchew. She is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, David Minchew and Shelton Minchew.

Anyone who knew our mama knew she was faithful to God and her church, The Potters Field Holiness Church. She loved her family dearly, especially spoiling her grandkids. To say she loved fishing is an understatement! She also liked to watch the Georgia Bulldogs. For those who knew her, knew her giving heart. She was like the woman in the Bible, who gave all. Mark 12:42-44

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. Chancey, Jr. (Phebe) of Mt. Holly,NC; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy Ferrell ( David) of Belle Glade, FL, Charlene Mathis (Jimmy) and Christy Aldridge (Jerry) all of Nahunta; 15 grandchildren, Lindsay Ferrell, Jeremy Ferrell, Chelsea Mathis, Sierra Mathis, Haley Mathis, Nate Mathis, Kamrie Chancey, Dalton Chancey, Taylor Rives (Cale), Katelynn Moore, Michael Moore, Mackenzie Aldridge, Gabe Aldridge,  Taylor Aldridge and Cade Aldridge; a great granddaughter, Maelyn Ruesga; a brother and sister-in-law, Gene Minchew (Judy) of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Austin Evans (Terry) of Jasper and Linda Dawson of Jacksonville, FL; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of Friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Saturday morning (January 20,2024) starting at 10AM at Frye Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (January 20, 2024) at 11AM at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. David Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dalton Chancey, Gabe Aldridge, Michael Moore, Cade Aldridge, Colby Ruesga and Jerry Aldridge.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
