Julian Wilbur Griffin

July 4, 1933 — May 27, 2020

Hoboken – Julian Wilbur Griffin, 86, of Hoboken passed away Wednesday morning (May 27, 2020) at Harborview Satilla in Waycross after an extended illness.

Born in Hoboken, GA his parents were Wilbur Griffin and Lois Raulerson Jacobs. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Strickland Griffin; and a brother, Homer Griffin.

Julian worked for the Brantley County Road Department and was of the Baptist faith. He loved farming, gardening and hunting.

Survivors include his 3 sons, Wilbur Griffin of North Carolina, Jonathan Cory Hand Griffin of Waycross and Joshua Allen Hand Griffin of Nahunta; a daughter, Eve Hand of Nahunta; 2 grandchildren, Joseph Daniel Petty of Nahunta and John Julian Griffin of Montana; a sister, Pauline Palmer of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Thursday morning (June 4, 2020) at 11am at High Bluff Cemetery with Rev. Tim Rowell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wilbur Griffin, Jonathan Griffin and Joseph Petty.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
