Wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Julia Blanche Jones went to be with Jesus Monday morning, July 10, 2023 in Brunswick, Georgia.
Born on November 15, 1930 in Glynn County, Georgia to Jim and Mildred Morgan Grimes as the oldest of three children. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Blanche is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ben Jones, daughters, Lynette Thompson (Michael) of Callahan, Fl, Jana Woodall (Ed) of Jacksonville, Fl and Jaren Robertson (W.S.) of Gray, Ga; grandchildren, Ben, Andrew, Morgan, Jake and Jacy; great-grandchildren Ashley, Lauren, Lisa, Leah, Wesley and Thompson; brothers Sammy Grimes, Kenny Grimes, Curtis Grimes; sisters, Francis Grimes and Chris Large.
Blanche was a devoted wife to her husband, Ben, of 73 years. After losing her mother at an early age, she became a mother figure for her brothers. Her loving care and compassion was felt by her girls, grands and great grands and to others that knew her.
She was a mother first, also working beside her husband in his business. She was a preschool teacher and retired from the Brantley County school system as a paraprofessional. She was a Sunday school teacher at the local Baptist church for many years and taught Sunday school at Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta. Blanche will be sorely missed.
Visitation for friends and family will be held from 5:30-7:00pm Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at Frye Funeral Home, 136 Satilla Ave, Nahunta, Ga. Graveside service will be held at the Smyrna Cemetery, Lulaton, Ga the following morning Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 10:00am.
