Judy Ann Blount

December 6, 1945 — February 24, 2010

Judy Widener Blount, 64 of Nahunta, went to be with Jesus early Wednesday morning (Feb. 24, 2010) at Southeast Georgia Health System following a lengthy illness. Born in Daytona Beach, FL, she is preceded in death by her father, Wyatt Edward Widener, her mother, Clara Hull Widener and a brother, Eugene Widener. She Retired from the Board of Education after 33 years as a Clerical worker, Ms. Blount also worked as a former 911 operator and served on the Nahunta Council and served as Mayor Protem for 8 years and was a past Secretary for Nahunta Fire Department. Also a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was truly a mother and friend to all and was fondly known as "Peaches and Cream". She loved spending time with her family and listening to music. She is survived by 3 Children and their spouses, Robert "Bobby" and Tracie Barnaby, Heidi and Michael Wells and Wyatt Carnell and Pamela Blount; 2 special Godchildren, Crystal Johns and Justen Smith all of Nahunta; 5 Grandchildren, Corbin Barnaby, Abby Barnaby, Sam Wyatt Blount, Amelia Ann Blount and Shelby Lynn Wells; her former husband and lifetime companion, Jack Blount of Nahunta; a Sister and brother-in-law, Lennie "Lynn" Widener Hawkins and Ralph Hawkins of Live Oak, FL and a Brother, Edward "Ed" Allen Widener of White Springs, FL; Also several nieces, nephews and other relatives also a great host of friends. Visitation will be Friday evening starting at 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Allen, Rev. Charles Florey, Rev. Michael Gibbs and Rev. Jerry Johns. Burial will follow at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Danny "Boy" Moore, Patrick Rowell, Harry Blount, Gene Solano, John Simpson, Wayne Harris, Robbie Cleland and Bill Sumner. Honorary pallbearers will be the Brantley County Sheriff Department, Nahunta Police Department, Brantley County Board of Education Central Office, Maintenance and Transportation Department.Honorary are ask to meet at the church by 1:15 P.M.
