Joshua Ben Sheppard

Hortense – Joshua Ben Sheppard, 29, of Hortense passed away suddenly Monday (February 22, 2021) in Jacksonville.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents are Ben Cliff Sheppard and Angela Hope Cloniger Sheppard of Hortense. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.D. and Vertie Sheppard.

Joshua was a carpenter for Local Union #256 and attended Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy. He loved being on the Satilla River and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, Ben & Angela Sheppard of Hortense; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Brandon & Brittanni Sheppard of Jacksonville and Jeremy & Katie Sheppard of Waynesville; his maternal grandparents, Fred & Frances King of Jacksonville; 7 nieces and nephews, Cassidy Sheppard, Zachery Sheppard, Saida Sheppard, Braxon Sheppard, Emma Sheppard, Colton Sheppard and Stella Sheppard; and also several aunts, uncles, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon (February 26, 2021) at 3pm at Ammons-Warner Cemetery with Bishop Raymond Willis officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service starting at 2:30pm at Ammons-Warner Cemetery.
