Jonnie Marie Highsmith

Nahunta – Jonnie Marie Davis Highsmith, 59, of Nahunta passed away Thursday evening (November 30, 2023) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, GA her parents were Noel Davis and Frances Crow Davis.

Jonnie was a homemaker and attended Waynesville Church of God. She loved spending time with her grandbabies, writing down recipes and listening and singing gospel music.

Survivors include her husband, Gilbert “Roy” Highsmith, Jr. of Nahunta; son & daughter-in-law, Raymond Jason Highsmith, Sr. (Alisha Ann) of Raybon; daughter and son-in-law, Annie Michele Sheets (Wesley Cannon) of Darien; 7 grandchildren, Charity Marie Clark, Raymond Jason “JJ” Highsmith, Jr., Austin Lee Clark, Taylor Grace Highsmith, Hunter Gage Sheets, Madison Gail Sheets and Georgia Lynn Sheets; a brother, Ronnie Gene Davis of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday (December 5, 2023) starting at 10am at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (December 5, 2023) at 11am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Freddie Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Highsmtih, Wesley Sheets, Bill Goolsby, Wardie Highsmith, Marvin Highsmith and Charlie Burgess.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
