Johnnie Ray O'Berry

Hortense-Johnnie “BeBe” Ray O’Berry, 68 of Hortense, passed away Friday afternoon (June 11, 2021) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Born in Nahunta, GA., his parents were John Henry O’Berry and Ina Loper O’Berry. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold O’Berry, William “Pete” O’Berry, and Wayne O’Berry; a sister, Darlene O’Berry Driggers; a sister-in-law, Elaine O’Berry; and 2 brothers-in-law, Robert Huey Driggers and William “Billy” Flowers.

Mr. Johnnie enjoyed reading books, model cars, and loved movies and music. He served in the United States Navy and was employed with Mobile Oil Company as an Engineer Tech for many years.

Survivors include his brother, Shelton “Sammy” O’Berry, of Round O, South Carolina; his sister, Donna Flowers, of Monroe, NC.; and his sister-in-law, Betty Jacobs O’Berry, of Wray, GA; 6 nieces and nephews, James O’Berry, Lee O’Berry, Deloris Peek, Cynthia Alsbrook, Joseph Flowers, and Josh Flowers; Also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Services will be held at a later date.
