John Franklin Griner, Jr.

Hortense- John Franklin “Junior” Griner, Jr., 57 of Hortense, passed away Tuesday (March 1, 2016) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA., his parents were John Franklin Griner, Sr. and Marion Taylor Griner.

Junior enjoyed walking everywhere he went, loved front porch sitting and visiting with his friends. He loved telling stories, never met a stranger, and made friends with everyone he met. He had a kind disposition.

Survivors include three brothers and a sister-in-law, Walter Griner (Ann), of Hortense, Buddy Griner, of Brunswick, and John Ellis Griner, also of Brunswick; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Frances Detloff (Jim), Jo Ann Simpson (Phillip), and Linda Moyers, all of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (March 12, 2016) at 3PM at Hortense Cemetery with Rev. Keith Brown officiating.
