Jesse 'Jet' Lee Allen

February 6, 1950 — November 1, 2020

Waycross – Jesse “Jet” Lee Allen, 70, of Waycross passed away Sunday evening (November 1, 2020) at Candler Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA his parents were John A. Allen and Nora Belle Crawford Allen. He is also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William “Billy” Allen and Johnny Dred Allen; and 2 sisters, Joyce R. Peeples and Shirley Thrift.

Jet was a Boilermaker for the Local 26 and a member of New Life Assembly Church of God in Blackshear. He enjoyed gardening and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include his wife of 9 years, Cathy Gunter Allen of Waycross; a son and daughter-in-law, Jared & Sierra Allen of Screven; a daughter, Mia Moore of Blackshear; 3 step children, Julie & David Boyette of Patterson, Alicia Deen of Hortense and Chad Bristow of Blackshear; 2 grandchildren, Rylee Moore (Garrett) and Gage Moore (Maddie) all of Blackshear; 4 step grandchildren, Faith Boyette of Valdosta, Ali Boyette of Patterson, Julia Deen and Justin Deen of Hortense; a great grandchild, Lankston Moore; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne Stewart of Charleston, SC, Charity & Gene Carr of Sandersville and Pamela & Richard Hedstrom of Brunswick; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the family highly recommends wearing a mask and that you follow the rules for social distancing. Also, if anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family understands and ask you to be in prayer for our loved ones.

A graveside service will be held Friday morning (November 6, 2020) at 11 AM at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Hoboken with Rev. Andy Peacock and Rev. Caleb Lancaster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Friday morning (November 6, 2020) starting at 10am at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Szeker, Aubrey Philips, Bill Hohenstein, Jimmy Johnson and Bill Waldron.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
