Jerry D. Simpson

Waycross – Jerry D. Simpson, 73, of Waycross passed away Sunday evening (December 27, 2020) at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL after an extended illness.

Born in Tifton, GA his parents were Earcell Simpson and Mildred Inez Hale Simpson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Johnson Simpson; and a son, Daniel Earcell Simpson.

Jerry was a pipe fitter for CSX Railroad and a member of Pine Valley Southern Methodist Church.

Survivors include his 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Marna & Chris Luke of Nashville, GA, Kelley & Ken Aldridge of McDonough, GA, Rebecca & Chevy Rigdon of Blackshear and Rachael & Michael Jeffcoat of Jackson, GA; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; life long best friends and his spouse, Carl & Bev Tatum of North Carolina; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, we ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A memorial service will be held Thursday morning (December 31, 2020) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Varnadore officiating.
