Waynesville – Jeffrey Glen Barber, 55, of Waynesville passed away Wednesday morning (November 6, 2024) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents were James Byron “Sonny” Barber and Virginia Mae Hooper Barber. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, James W. Crews and Byron Kroscavage; and his biological father, Roy Jacobs.

Jeffrey was a farmer and served in the United States Army, who loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Heather Barber of Waynesville; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Shayne Barber (Allison) of Springfield, GA and Jarret Barber (Elissa) of El Paso, TX; a daughter, Dakota James of IL; 3 grandchildren, Estella Barber, Christian James and Briar James; two brothers and  a sister-in-law, Tony Barber (Lisa) of Hortense and Jack Browning; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura Doremus (Chris) of Houston, TX, Cindy Fowler (Joe) and Candy Barber all of Atlanta, Charlene Taylor (Christopher) of Hoboken; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday (November 16, 2024) at 2PM at Phillipian Church, Raybon Rd Hoboken, GA 31542. A reception for the family will be held immediately following the service. 

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
