Jeannette Steedley Cato

Nahunta- Marion Jeanette Steedley Cato,76 of Nahunta, passed away Friday evening (August 9, 2019) at Hospice of Golden Isles, in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Nahunta, GA. her parents were Seward and Dorothy Mae Harris Steedley. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Merle Scarborough, a brother, Julian Steedley, and a brother-in-law, Coleman Prescott.

Mrs. Jeanette was a homemaker and a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church. She loved watching westerns and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Hayward “Buddy” Cato of Nahunta; a son, Clifford Steedley (special friend, Danette Hendrix) of Nahunta; a daughter, Danielle Cato, of Patterson; a grandson and his spouse, Joe Parse (Brooke) of Hoboken; 3 great grandchildren; Lillie Parse, Alli Parse, and Emi Parse; a brother and his spouse, Jimmy Steedley (Shirley) of Nahunta; a sister, Ann Prescott, of Jacksonville, FL. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday morning (August 13,2019) starting at 9 AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (August 13,2019) at 10 AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Barney King, Melvin King, Eric Prescott, Bicknell Manor, Don Hendrix, Dale Lyons, and Clark Lyons.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the funeral home Tuesday by 9:30 AM.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
