Jay Allen Chesser

December 30, 1960 — February 22, 2021

Jacksonville – Jay Allen Chesser, 60, of Jacksonville passed away Monday evening (February 22, 2021) at Baptist Memorial South in Jacksonville after extended illness.

Born in Jacksonville, FL his parents were Benjamin Franklin Chesser and Aline Moore Chesser. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Nicky Chesser.

Jay was a landlord and loved sports especially playing golf and racket ball, snow skiing, bike riding and doing runs in Jacksonville.

Survivors include his 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Joy Knight of Jacksonville and Brenda & Bucky Horne of Palm City, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Steve & Pat Chesser of TN; his aunt, Betty Jo Bonventre of Jacksonville; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Saturday afternoon (February 27, 2021) at 1pm at Oak Grove Cemetery with Pastor Nicolas Khoury officiating. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service starting at 12:30pm at the cemetery.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
