Callahan – Jasper Robert “Bob” Crawford, 80, of Callahan, FL passed away early Monday morning (April 18, 2022) at the Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, FL after an extended illness.
His parents were James Beal Crawford and Lola Grace Johnson Crawford. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Michelle Crawford Rhoden; and a brother, James Crawford.
Bob worked as a PVX Installer for Southern Bell and retired after 32 years from AT&T at the age of 50. He then owned and operated Alternative Communications. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Callahan and a member of the NRA. Bob loved his family, gardening, fishing, guns and doing genealogy.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Melva Thrift Crawford of Callahan; a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Crawford Healan of Jacksonville; 5 grandchildren, Rachel Dawn Rhoden Mewbourne, Callie Desiree Healan Funderburk, Wesley Keegan Rhoden, Emily Josette Rhoden Schoenhoft and Cady Shea Healan; 6 great grandchildren, Rayne Harper, Attaleia Funderburk, Gemma Mewbourne, Theo Schoenhoft, Tybee Funderburk and Killian Rhoden; 2 sisters, Novadine Chase of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Sandra Goodwin of Hilliard; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday morning (April 22, 2022) starting at 10am at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church.
A funeral service will held Friday morning (April 22, 2022) at 11am at Riverside Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Frangos, Mike Johnson, Gary Cox, Gerald Thrift, Chuck Bass, and Gerry Sebastian.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church in Callahan.
