Jannie Colleen 'Cookie' Lee

Hortense – Jannie “Cookie” Colleen Lee, 86, of Hortense passed away Thursday evening (September 21, 2017) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Kannapolis, NC her parents were Jesse James and Bertha Lefevers Ervin. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee, Sr.; 2 daughters, Karen Lee Goodwin and Teresa Colleen Smith; a son-in-law, Steve Houston; and also several brothers and sisters.

Colleen was of the Baptist faith and in 1978 along with her husband and son were the cofounders of Golden Isles Office Equipment where she was the bookkeeper. She also enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, coloring and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter, Tana Lee Houston of Hortense; her son and daughter-in-law, Eddie & Kathy Lee of Waverly; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff Goodwin, Robbie & Beth Lee, Jessie & Rance Clark, Joshua & Alyssa Lee, Jeremy Smith, and Lauren & Kevin Eades; 5 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening (September 23, 2017) from 6PM – 8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (September 24, 2017) at 3PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Linton officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery in Waycross.

Pallbearers will be Wade Lee, Frank Reeves, Eddie Booth, Gregory Booth, Fred Reeves, Stephen Booth, and Jeffrey Booth. Pallbearers are asked to be at the funeral home Sunday by 2:30pm.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
