Janice Herrin Lewis

Hortense – Janice Karen Herrin Lewis, 84, of Hortense passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday morning (February 10, 2022).
Born in Patterson, GA her parents were James A. Herrin, Sr. and Karen Arnette Herrin. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Lewis; a son, Paul Kevin Lewis; a brother, Thomas Herrin; and her stepmother, Bertie Herrin Pearson.
Mrs. Janice was a homemaker and a member of Philadelphia Wesleyan Sawgrass Church where she served on many boards and committees, including being the secretary on the Board of the Hortense Wesleyan Camp Meetings. Her favorite hobby that she just loved doing was fishing and she also loved entertaining and decorating for parties and special occasions. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Survivors include her 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Karis Watson (Marc) and Linda Wilson (Robert) all of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Joe Lewis (Margaret) of Hortense; 5 grandchildren, Chris Watson, Taylor Watson (Hannah), John Lewis (Heather), Karen Mendoza (Juan) and Madison Wilson; 3 great grandchildren, Shyla Lewis, David Lewis and Amelia Mendoza; a brother and sister-in-law, James A. Herrin (Nellie Jo) of Hortense; a sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Danielczyk (Richard) of North Carolina; her dedicated team of caregivers, Sherrita, Donna, Kelly, Delilah, Peggy, Gwen and Michele; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be held Monday (February 14, 2022) at 12:30pm at Hortense Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating.
Pallbearers will be Marc Watson, Robert Wilson, Chris Watson, Taylor Watson, John Lewis and Juan Mendoza.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
